Pussy Riot member in free speech plea

THE sole member of anti-Kremlin punk group Pussy Riot freed on appeal is taking her case to the European Court of Human Rights, accusing Russia of illegally detaining her and violating the right to free speech.

Yekaterina Samutsevich, 30, was one of a trio jailed for two years in August for belting out a protest song against president Vladimir Putin in a Moscow Orthodox cathedral.
