Protests spell end for finance minister

Bulgaria’s prime minister has sacked finance minister Simeon Dyankov in the wake of nationwide protests against rocketing electricity bills.

Mr Dyankov will be replaced by EU funds minister Tomislav Donchev, who will keep both portfolios.

Protesters have accused the government of failing to stop living standards falling.
