Prosecution sparks deadly protests

A BANGLADESHI tribunal prosecuting cases stemming from the 1971 independence war yesterday sentenced a leader of an Islamic opposition party to life in prison.

The move sparked street clashes with police that left two people dead and dozens more injured.
