‘Prosecute MP over Bible–burning call’

MALAYSIA’s legal fraternity has said an independent MP should be prosecuted for calling for the mass burning of Bibles that use the word “Allah” to refer to God.

The Bar Council made the call against Ibrahim Ali, head of a group that champions the rights of ethnic Malay Muslims. He is accused of whipping up religious tension ahead of a forthcoming general election.
