Paper sorry for 'black folk' carol

AN AMERICAN student newspaper has apologised for publishing a satirical Christmas carol entitled O Come All Ye Black Folk that ridiculed black students and affirmative action policies.

The carol, published in Primary Source, which bills itself "the journal of conservative thought" at Tufts University, Massachusetts, called black people "boisterous" and proclaimed: "Born into the ghetto. O Jesus! We need you now to fill our racial quotas."

The newspaper issued the apology after student leaders discussed calls to reduce its funding.
