Pakistan: Prime minister to join Taleban peace talks

Pakistan’s prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani will travel to Qatar next week to talk with leaders there about the prospect of a peace deal to end the war in Afghanistan.

The Afghan Taleban last month announced it would set up a political office in Qatar’s capital Doha, which was seen as a major development in efforts to end the war. Neither side have talked in detail about what shape any deal might take.
