North Korea 'launches more missiles'

NORTH Korea launched two more short-range missiles today, a day after conducting a nuclear test, according to news reports.

The two missiles – one ground-to-air, the other ground-to-ship – with a range of about 80 miles were test-fired today from an east coast launch pad, the Yonhap news agency and YTN television reported.

South Korea's spy chief, Won Sei-hoon, told politicians that North Korea appeared to be preparing to test-fire another short-range missile from a west coast launch pad.

The UN Security Council called yesterday's underground test a "clear violation" of a 2006 resolution and has begun work on a new resolution that could mean stronger sanctions.
