Niger flood death toll nears 100

floods in Niger have killed 91 people and caused significant damage, a government official said yesterday.

Aghaly Abdoulkader said all eight regions are affected by the floods, which have damaged fields, rice paddies, water points, schools, health centres and roads, he said. Large quantities of food have been destroyed and cattle washed away.
