Netanyahu forges permanent coalition

PrEMIER Benjamin Netanyahu and his main coalition partner, foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman, plan to merge their right-wing parties ahead of Israel’s 22 January election.

Mr Lieberman heads the ultra-nationalist Israel Beiteinu (Israel is Our Home), the third largest in the Knesset with 15 seats, while Mr Netanyahu leads the Likud party.
