Neo-Nazi pair in court over plot to assassinate Barack Obama
A PLOT to assassinate US presidential contender Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 88 black people in a Tennessee murder spree has been broken up by government agents.
Two neo-Nazis planned to drive as fast as they could at Democrat Mr Obama while wearing white tuxedos and top hats, shooting at him from the windows, according to court documents.
Daniel Cowart, 20, and Paul Schlesselman 18, were held without bail.
The pair, who indicated they were willing to die during the assassination bid, also planned to target an unnamed high school with predominantly African American students.
They are charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, conspiring to steal firearms from a licensed gun dealer and threatening a candidate for president.
Agents seized a rifle, a sawn-off shotgun and three pistols from the men when they were arrested in Crockett County, Tennessee, on October 22.
