Mugabe says he's not to blame

ZIMBABWE'S president Robert Mugabe defended his record as the country reels from unemployment and runaway inflation, saying drought and sanctions were the cause of the problems, not his policies.

Mugabe also absolved police forces that last week violently suppressed demonstrators in the capital Harare.
