Mudslides in Brazil after torrential rain
Heavy rains have triggered mudslides that have killed at least ten people in a mountain town north of Rio de Janeiro, state officials said yesterday.
Officials said that 14 inches of rain – more than a month’s worth – fell in 24 hours in the town of Petropolis.
More than 900 people died in floods and mudslides in the same area two years ago.
