Militants warn of Turkey 'hell'

A KURDISH militant group today warned tourists to stay away from Turkey which it vowed to turn into "hell" as it steps up its guerrilla war against the state.

The group, which is showing a growing trend for organising bombings against "soft targets", such as tourists, said "the fear of death will reign everywhere in Turkey".

But many people sunbathing and partying on the Mediterranean coast today vowed they would not change their plans.

Travel agents said there were no significant cancellations after one bomb killed three people in the Mediterranean resort city of Antalya and a previous blast injured 21 people, including ten British tourists, in the seaside town of Marmaris.

Kurdistan Freedom Falcons took responsibility for the blasts and vowed on its website to "turn . . . Turkey into hell".
