Kennedy watch sold
A WATCH that Marilyn Monroe reportedly gave to President John F Kennedy as a birthday present has fetched $120,000 (£68,000) at auction.
The gold Rolex is inscribed "Jack, With love as always from Marilyn, May 29th 1962".
The actress is believed to have passed the watch to an aide to give to Kennedy.
However, when the president saw it, he told the assistant to "get rid of it", according to a note sold with the timepiece.
The watch was bought by an unnamed collector from the United States.
