Japanese warn island invaders
JAPAN yesterday called on South Korea to end an “illegal occupation” of dispute islands and told China it would no longer tolerate unauthorised landings by its activists on a separate island group.
The Japanese parliament also condemned South Korean president Lee Myung-bak for visiting the islands in the Sea of Japan, and accused China of allowing activists to land days later on an East China Sea island chain.
“A series of incidents have occurred, threatening our sovereignty, which we find extremely regrettable. We do not tolerate these actions,” premier Yoshihiko Noda said.
