Inquiry rules shooting of Tawan's president was for sympathy vote
AN OPPOSITION-LED inquiry into the election-eve shooting of Taiwan’s president, Chen Shui-bian, has concluded the attack last March was staged for sympathy votes, a finding the presidential office dismissed as ridiculous.
Mr Chen won a second four-year term by 0.2 per cent.
