Glitter tells BBC interviewer: I'm not a child molester

GARY Glitter, right, the disgraced former rock star, has spoken out from his prison cell to deny abusing under-age girls.

Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, was jailed for three years in March for sexually molesting two girls in Vietnam.

In his first interview since the court case, the 61-year-old said he had only let the girls into his bed because they were "scared of ghosts", and insisted that he knew where "the line" was.

Glitter's trial heard graphic testimony from the girls, in which it was said he had fondled and molested them in his rented seaside villa in Vung Tau.

When he delivered the verdict, the judge said Glitter committed obscene acts with children many times "in a disgusting and sick manner".

But in an interview with the BBC in Vietnam - broadcast yesterday - Glitter insisted: "I haven't done anything."
