Fukushima own goal

Japan has attacked a French television host who showed a composite picture of national team goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima with four arms and made a joke about the “Fukushima effect” after Japan beat France 1-0 on Friday.

Laurent Ruquier’s wisecrack drew laughter in the studio but Japan’s chief cabinet secretary Osamu Fujimura said the reference was “inappropriate” and said a letter of protest had been sent to TV station, France 2, by the Japanes ambassador.
