Former US aide found guilty of dishonesty

FORMER US White House aide David Safavian was yesterday found guilty of covering up his dealings with Republican "influence peddler" Jack Abramoff.

Safavian was convicted on four counts of lying and obstruction. He had resigned from his post as the federal government's chief procurement officer last year.
