Flight safety troops killed in plane crash

Poland: Twenty members of the Polish military were killed on their way back from a flight safety conference when their plane crashed in woods.

Prime minister Donald Tusk said today the plane crashed as it was about to land last night. The victims included a brigadier general.

Afghanistan: The number of students and teachers killed in Taliban attacks has tripled in the past year, in a campaign to close schools and force teenage boys to join the Islamic militia, the country's education chief says.
