Flashpoint city rocked in double blast attack
NIGERIA: Two explosions, including a car bomb, struck a north-east Nigerian city, wounding two soldiers. Military spokesman Lt Col Hassan Ifijeh Mohammed said the attacks took place on Friday in Maiduguri, the spiritual home for the radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram.
Boko Haram is waging a violent campaign against Nigeria’s central government in its quest to enact strict Shariah law and avenge Muslim deaths in the nation.
