Extreme cold kills 18 in Ukraine

Eighteen people have died of cold in Ukraine so far this month – most of them over the weekend – as temperatures dropped below -10C, the government has said.

The health ministry said on Saturday and Sunday 12 people were found dead on the streets, three in their homes and three died while receiving medical treatment.
