Ex-army officer jailed for democratic views
COMMUNIST authorities in Vietnam have jailed a former army officer and democracy activist for five and a half years.
Tran Anh Kim, 60, was accused of "working to overthrow the state" by joining the Democratic Party of Vietnam and joining Bloc 8406, an organisation that promotes a multi-party state.
