Elvis's daughter adds voice to record marking 30th anniversary of singer's death

ELVIS Presley's In the Ghetto has been remastered to feature his daughter to mark the 30th anniversary of his death.

The video, which adds Lisa Marie Presley's voice to the 1969 hit, will be posted on the AOL website Spinner.com tomorrow. It features Lisa Marie and images of her father - who died on 16 August, 1977. Spinner.com will post the video along with the transcript of an interview with Lisa Marie.

She said the project was emotionally stirring: "We had two hours to lay down my vocals. So the next morning, I heard the rough ... and ... I've never cried when I've done anything ... ever ... but I just lost it when I heard it."

Lisa Marie also said she was offended that her father's song Viva Las Vegas had been used in a Viagra commercial.

Meanwhile, the bookmaker William Hill yesterday said it is continuing to accept bets that Elvis is still alive. It is offering odds of 200-1 that the FBI will confirm that through DNA tests.

And, as it is the season of hoaxes, Hill will couple the bet with the Foreign Office arresting Lord Lucan, the Natural History Museum confirming the existence of the Loch Ness monster and the serving prime minister confirming the existence of intelligent extra-terrestrial life. "Elvis in hiding is one of the most enduring conspiracy theories, but we are seeing less and less bets on his emergence and within a couple of years even that will probably peter out," said a spokesman.
