Chinese boats face fishing crackdown

Vietnam is setting up patrols in the South China Sea after its state oil company accused Chinese fishing boats of sabotaging its seismic surveys.

Vietnam’s civilian-led patrols, backed by marine police and a border force, will be deployed from 25 January to stop foreign vessels that violate fishing laws.
