Canada shuts its embassy in Iran

CANADA has closed its embassy in Iran and plans to expel all remaining Iranian diplomats within five days, foreign minister John Baird said yesterday, denouncing Tehran as the biggest threat to global security.

Mr Baird cited Iran’s nuclear programme, its hostility towards Israel and Iranian military assistance to Syria in his announcement.
