Bulgarian critical after fire protest

A 41-YEAR-OLD man set himself on fire in Bulgaria yesterday – the sixth person to do so in a month – in protest against poverty and suspected corruption that has brought down the government.

The unemployed man, from a village near the town of Silistra, is in a critical condition in hospital.
