Arrested blogger’s mother kills herself

The mother of a Vietnamese blogger has died after setting herself on fire ahead of her daughter’s trial next week.

Dang Thi Kim Lieng, 64, died en route to hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. Her daughter, Ta Phong Tan was arrested last September accused of anti-state activity, police said.
