A COURT in Cairo has ordered a 30-day YouTube ban after the website carried an anti-Islam film that caused deadly riots across the world.

Court in Cairo bans YouTube over anti-Islam film

Judge Hassouna Tawfiq ordered the government block YouTube because of the amateur film, produced by an Egyptian in the United States. The film denigrates Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. Lawyer Mohammed Hamid Salim, who filed the lawsuit last year, alleges the film – which sparked demonstrations last September in more than 20 countries, including Egypt – is a threat to Egypt’s security.
