JAMES Temple-Smithson, Head of the European Parliament Office in Edinburgh states: “The EU has an obligation to act when it fears that fundamental democratic rights are being threatened” (Letters 12 May). That is good to hear.
Following the EU’s undemocratic actions in ignoring democracy in Italy and Greece and appointing its placemen, and its failure to have its accounts approved by its auditors for the past 18 years, we can look forward to the EU voting to dissolve itself, surely? Or is the EU staffed by undemocratic hypocrites who believe that democracy is solely doing what they command?
