CYCLING champion Sir Chris Hoy will make a special appearance in his home city later this month to promote the launch of his own brand of bikes.

Evans Cycles, on Exchange Place, has already fielded strong interest since first stocking the range of seven bikes from Monday, seen here with the shop’s Grace Wilding. Hoy is holding a one-off question and answer session at the Edinburgh store on June 22 from 6pm.

Prices for the bikes range from £550 to £1300. The prototypes were personally tested by the six-time Olympic gold medallist.

Store assistant manager Andy Mawer predicted: “They’ll do well.”

Cycling legend Hoy, 37, tweeted: “I’m very excited to say that
@hoybikes have finally arrived.”
