House prices at 2009 levels
HOUSE prices in the Capital have reverted to 2009 levels after recent falls wiped out any recovery made last year.
The average recorded house price in Edinburgh was £13,000 lower in the three months ending September, compared with the same period in 2010.
The average house price between July and September was £216,673 – down from £229,787, according to the new ESPC report.
The most significant fall was in the city centre, by 13.5 per cent, but one-bed flats in Leith and Easter Road increased by nine per cent.
In contrast, Midlothian saw price increases of 11.3 per cent and West Lothian saw 10.6 per cent.
