Hotfoot it to zoo's fire-walking event

BRAVE members of the public are being invited to walk across fire at Edinburgh Zoo.

The Firewalk will see sponsored individuals walking across 20ft of embers burning at 1200 degrees Fahrenheit.

A two-hour training session will take place before the Firewalk, to equip the participants with the resources to walk unharmed across the burning embers. Funds raised from this event will be donated to the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), the charity that owns Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park, and will help care for the animals in both parks as well as animals in the wild.

Zoe Mobey, development manager for RZSS and a participant in the Firewalk, said: "This is the first time we have had a Firewalk event at the Zoo and everyone involved is really looking forward to it. We have 40 spaces left and are keen for members of the public to fill them up as quickly as possible."

The event is scheduled to take place on the evening of October 3 and anyone interested in taking part should visit www.rzss.org.uk
