Hospital ruling 'months away'
A DECISION on where to situate a new Royal Edinburgh hospital could be several months away.
A preferred option was expected this month by the health board.
But after a board reshuffle a new lead has been appointed, and it is thought she will need months to review all the options before making a recommendation.
Under re-provision plans the psychiatric hospital could be split over different sites, including Little France, the Western General site or St John's Hospital in Livingston. The Patients Council at the hospital is in favour of retaining the site in Morningside.
