Horseboy refuses to reveal identity

AN INTERNET prankster dubbed Horseboy yesterday refused to give away his identity, claiming that his real name is ''Dobbin Horsome''.

The man - who has been spotted on Google Street View in various locations in Aberdeen wearing a horse's head mask - said that he didn't want to give away his name as he "quite likes lurking in the shadows".

The mystery man first came to the attention of Google users after an IT worker from Aberdeen spotted the man wearing the horse mask on an Aberdeen street. The IT worker Russell Moffat, 50, said: "I was looking for an optician's shop when I saw this crazy guy.

"He obviously spotted the Google car photographing streets, ran to get a horse mask, and laid in wait."

It later emerged there is another picture of the prankster on the other side of the city, next to a girl who appears to be wearing a school uniform.

The mysterious man told Channel 4 news: "All this attention is certainly fascinating but I quite like lurking in the shadows for now. I'm monitoring the 'internet sensation' as it progresses. Whether I really want to be readily identified is perhaps the more pertinent question."

The man, who claims he's not from Scotland, says it was a pure coincidence he chose Aberdeen to strike, as he was there for a friend's wedding.

He said he was on the way back from the pub when he spotted the Google car and couldn't miss the opportunity to put on the mask.
