Holy inaccurate

Neil Craig (Letters, 26 November) is incorrect to attribute the Turin Shroud to Leonardo da Vinci as there exists firm documentary evidence that it first appeared in the 14th century. Da Vinci was born in 1452.

And what is this documentary evidence? A bishop's report to the pope in 1389 saying that the shroud was fake and that the artist responsible had confessed.
