Hogmanay stay-ins spend more money

PEOPLE celebrating the New Year will spend more money by staying at home than going out, according to new research.

A survey of more than 2,000 adults by Post Office Home Insurance found those partying indoors spent 95 on food and drink, compared to 73 by those going to a club, and 57 by those celebrating in a pub. Despite this, the main reason given for staying in was to save money.
