Hogmanay: Revellers told to avoid A&E
REVELLERS who injure themselves during New Year celebrations have been urged to stay away from accident and emergency unless treatment is essential.
Instead, NHS Lothian said, people should head for the minor injuries clinic at the Western General, which is open until 9pm each night.
Elaine Pollard, lead nurse practitioner for the health board, said: "I would urge anyone who is celebrating this weekend to take extra care so that they don't have to pay us a visit.
"New Year is the busiest time of the year for us."
