Hogmanay: Extra trains to keep Scots on the move at Hogmanay
EXTRA rail services are set to be put on today to keep Scotland moving over Hogmanay.
Transport Minister Keith Brown said he was confident the public transport network would cope, with the weather forecast improving since the freezing temperatures recorded across Lothian earlier this month.
He said: "This Hogmanay we will continue Scotland's tradition of being on the first foot for celebrations.
"As the recent severe weather thaws, we are working hard to ensure Scotland is prepared for the New Year. Revellers will welcome this forecast for milder weather in time for the traditional outdoor celebrations, and there is more good news, with operators providing additional services to get people where they want to be."
ScotRail will be introducing new services today, including two additional services between Waverley and Glasgow Queen Street, at 9.30pm and 10pm.
