Hogmanay weather: Dry but cloudy night expected for revellers in Scotland

WITH thousands of revellers set to attend Hogmanay parties across Scotland, the weather is set to remain largely settled and dry.

• Hogmanay revellers can expect a mainly dry, cloudy night

The Met Office says that while much of the UK will be cloudy and dry today with less fog and mist, there will be some brighter spells across northeast Scotland.

However, rain and strengthening winds will spread into northern Scotland by late afternoon.

Tonight, any rain in Scotland will continue southwards, leaving drier and colder conditions north of the border.

On New Years Day some sunshine will break through, although snow showers will push into the north of Scotland.
