Hingis first dancer to be foot-faulted off Strictly
TENNIS player Martina Hingis, below, became the first celebrity to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing last night. She was beaten by Crimewatch presenter Rav Wilding in a dance-off on the BBC1 show.
She said: "It was a great experience. I wish it would continue, but here we are. Maybe I will come back for a few more lessons to London."
It was the first time the contestants faced the public vote in this series. These were added to the judges' scores and the two pairs with the lowest score went into the dance-off.
Judges Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood voted to keep Hingis and her dance partner, Matthew Cutler, but fellow judge Alesha Dixon voted for Wilding.
That left chief judge Len Goodman with the casting vote and he backed Wilding.
