High 5: Shallon Ronaldson
Shallon Ronaldson, 31, a sales assistant from Carricknowe, lists her top five places to take the kids on a day out.
1 Edinburgh Zoo. It can be quite expensive, but it's a great day out and you can spend a whole day there.
2 Dynamic Earth. A very interesting way for the children to learn about the world, with lots of activities.
3 Museum of Childhood on the Royal Mile. Free admission and the kids always enjoy looking at the old toys. It's a nice day out.
4 Edinburgh Dungeons. The kids will love this one. It's a fun way for them to learn about history, with a few frights thrown in.
5 Ice skating, Murrayfield Ice Rink. Not terribly expensive and the family skate hours are great.
