High 5: Mike Tyrell
Mike Tyrell, 28, an IT consultant from Leith, picks his favourite Edinburgh smells.
1 The Caledonian Brewery I used to do tours in a distillery up north and I love the smell of the fermenting alcohol.
2 Princes Street Gardens It's best in the spring when the grass is fresh and there's dew on the leaves.
3 Gunpowder I love that smell that hangs in the air after a fireworks display. You know something good's going on when you smell it.
4 The Mermaid chip shop, Leith Walk Especially at kicking out time on Saturday nights. It just lures you in!
5 Lothian Buses More by contrast. If you've ever been on a Glasgow bus you'll know what I mean.
