HIBERNIAN have confirmed they are to pilot a half-time smoking scheme for fans in the East Stand.

Up until now, supporters have been banned from smoking inside the stadium, but the new plans will see fans allowed out to smoke at half-time, before being allowed to re-enter the stadium in a controlled fashion.

If the trial is successful in eradicating smoking within the stadium, the scheme could be introduced in the other three stands at Easter Road.
