TAYSIDE detectives have arrested two men and a woman and recovered heroin with an estimated street value of £50,000 during an operation in Dundee last night.
The Class A drugs were seized after a vehicle was stopped near to the city’s Invergowrie roundabout, known locally as the Swallow roundabout, shortly after 11pm.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Three people – two men aged 27 and 36 and a 27-year-old woman, all from Dundee – were arrested and subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and all three are expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today.”
Chief Superintendent Hamish Macpherson, the Tayside Divisional Commander, said: “We will continue to take positive action to disrupt the activities of drug dealers across Scotland and ensure that all our communities are as inhospitable as they can be for those people who seek to profit on the misery of others”
He continued: “The public can assist us by telling us if and when drugs are being dealt in their neighbourhoods. We will use that information to take positive action against the parasites that hurt our communities.”
