Heard it through Grapevine – Texans in Lothian
A CONTROVERSIAL twinning link between Grapevine, Texas, and West Lothian will see the first visitors from the US city arrive in Scotland next month.
A small delegation from Grapevine will arrive on April 4, for a four-day fact-finding mission. A larger group is expected in June, including a 36-strong high school marching band.
The visits have been organised by the new West Lothian/Grapevine Twinning Association.
Council leader Peter Johnston, said today he was pleased with the progress.
"I am delighted that we have now reached this stage," he said. "We are confident that the new twinning association has fantastic potential to develop good links between West Lothian and Texas. Our visitors will meet key players from the council, chamber of commerce and tourism forum to discuss future plans."
