Witness plea after car crash

POLICE investigating a road crash where two pensioners were injured have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The incident took place on the A701 Edinburgh to Penicuik road, at its junction with A703 Edinburgh to Peebles road (Leadburn Junction).

The collision involved a Renault Kangoo Van and a Vauxhall Astra. The Astra driver, a 79-year-old man, and a 70-year-old woman passenger, both sustained minor injuries.

The 46-year old driver of the Kangoo was not injured in the smash, which happened at about 3pm yesterday.
