Health chiefs in new vision

A PROJECT has been launched to help people with vision problems access help without attending hospital.

The NHS Lothian and Royal National Institute of Blind People partnership will see city optometrists widen their service.

It means that low-vision aids to help people read or watch television become more accessible.

Allan Jones, RNIB's operations manager in Edinburgh, said: "We are confident that waiting times for low-vision equipment will be slashed."
