Women suffer more pain from arthritis

WOMEN are more likely to feel aches, pain and tiredness due to rheumatoid arthritis than men.

Although they may have the same level of the condition as male sufferers, a woman's lack of body strength appears to make symptoms more severe, says research in the journal Arthritis Research and Therapy. Dr Tuulikki Sokka, of the Jyvaskyla Central Hospital in Finland, said:

"Our findings were particularly obvious in older women, who are losing muscle mass little by little every year."
