Weather link to headaches
HEADACHES can be caused by the weather, a new study suggested yesterday.
Researchers looked at the cases of more than 7,000 people who attended an A&E in the city of Boston, US, with severe headaches over a period of seven years. Of these, 2,250 were diagnosed with migraine and 4,803 with "tension" or "unspecified" headaches.
The study found that the risk of headache went up by 7.5 per cent for every 5C rise in temperature. Lower barometric pressure within days of the hospital visit also increased the risk of non-migraine headaches.
